Informational design applied to graphical interface development of a serious game intending to fight Aedes aegypti

Aims: The aim of this study was to show the application of informational design concepts to the graphical interface construction of a serious game intending to fight Aedes aegypti. Materials and methods: the overview of game themes, mechanics and metaphor, the informational design and development explanation about cross-platform layout were discussed. Results: Aedes Game is an educational game, which aims to fight Aedes aegypti mosquito. Each right or wrong answer of the player changes a positive or negative feature of the mosquito. Exploration of scenario, video and Midia resources were used to give the game publicity. The informational design is important in the process of creating a serious game aimed to inform a diverse audience. Conclusion: The application of informational design concepts improve the quality of communication through the information provided on game screen. Using the informational design concepts the information was presented clearly and objectively, enabling user’s comprehension.
